We are very proud of our team, so please take a moment and acquaint yourself with our staff:

Angela Schrum - New Patient Coordinator Our New Patient Coordinator is Angela Schrum. Angela is responsible for new patient consultations and following those patients who we are monitoring for growth and eruption. She also helps with some front desk duties. Angela graduated from Winthrop University with a B.S. degree in biology and lives in Mt. Pleasant with her husband, Marty.

Lauren Jarrett - Front Desk Coordinator Lauren Jarrett is the newest member of our team and has recently moved to Mt. Pleasant from Columbia. Originally from Kingstree, Lauren has worked in orthodontics for several years, both at the front desk and as a New Patient Coordinator. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in biology. Lauren lives in Mt. Pleasant with her dog, Layla, and enjoys going to the beach.

Betty Burkhardt - Financial Coordinator Our Financial Coordinator is Betty Burkhardt. Betty is a native Charlestonian and has been involved with the practice since 1981. She has extensive knowledge in all aspects of orthodontics and is available to help answer any financial or insurance questions you may have. Betty enjoys spending time with her family and stays very busy watching her grandchildren dance and play sports!

Lesa Jones - Clinical Assistant Originally from James Island, Lesa Jones has been a clinical assistant with the practice for 16 years. She is a certified dental assistant, which means she has two additional years of training in dental assisting. Lesa has a son at James Island High School and another at Clemson University. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Eddie, and their two dogs.

Rachel Johnson - Clinical Assistant Rachel Johnson is also a certified dental assistant and has worked in our office since 2002. Originally from Michigan, Rachel attended Grand Valley State University before moving to Charleston in 1996. Currently, she lives in Summerville with her husband, Scott and son, Gray. Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.

Tammy Giannelli - Clinical Assistant Our newest clinical assistant is Tammy Giannelli. Tammy is a native Charlestonian and has been an orthodontic assistant for 21 years. She spends much of her time with her husband and three children, and also loves to enjoy the outdoors. She also is the caretaker of St. Thomas/St. Denis Episcopal Church in Cainhoy.
